House Blessings
In the Orthodox Church, after the Feast of Theophany, it the tradition that the priest brings the “Waters of the Jordan” to the home of each parishioner for a house blessing. Fr. Jeffrey will bless the homes of the Orthodox and non-Orthodox members of the St. Michael’s community.
In anticipation of his visit, parishioners should have in place their icons, a candle and a printed list of all the members of the household. Lead by the head of the household, and followed by the rest of its members, the priest will bless each room of the house with holy water.
Please contact Father Jeffrey to schedule your house blessing.
Antiochian Fasting Calendar
In the Antiochian tradition there is no ascetical fasting on any day until after Holy Ascension. Then we begin our regular Wednesday and Friday fasts, which begin on May 22, the day after Ascension. Fasting as preparation for partaking of the Eucharist is still in place.
Confessions
Confessions will be heard during Sunday Orthros, after Saturday Vespers, and by appointment. During Orthros please remain by the left-side candle stand in front of the Theotokos after the Gospel Reading. Fr. Jeffrey will meet you there.
